Elk Hill is seeking an Academic Support Coordinator to assist with the virtual learning of our high school students enrolled in public schools and provide communication with their teachers. Responsibilities include managing a classroom environment for students to complete their remote learning assignments, ensuring students stay on task and complete their assignments, supporting students if they have questions or technology challenges, familiarize themselves with online platforms and academic resources; collect data and compile reports on the academic and behavioral progress of each student and serve as a liaison between students, Elk Hill staff and public school teachers regarding student assignments, performance, and areas of need.
We are looking for candidates that:
Have a valid Virginia teaching license OR experience in special education classrooms.
Knowledgeable of standards and curriculum for 9th-12th grades, or have worked in a high school classroom and understand the standards
Have at least one year’s experience working with at-risk youth.
Have strong written communication skills and knowledge of school technology platforms (PowerSchool, BlackBoard, etc.)
Position is three days per week from 9:00am-3:00pm at our Charlottesville School (Days worked are negotiable).
