Mr. Pete Glessman

Head of Harambee School

Pete Glessman joined Elk Hill in 2016. He is the Head of School in Goochland and Farming Program Director. Mr. Glessman earned his BA from Syracuse University and his MA in Anthropology and MA in Teaching from Binghamton University. He has decades of experience working with at risk youth in both the public and private sector of education as a teacher, grade-level administrator, assistant principal, principal and program director. Mr. Glessman has over a decade of experience working in small-scale agriculture, working both on the farm, marketing, and selling produce. He is a Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener and works with the Monacan Soil and Water Conservation District, the Goochland and Powhatan offices of the Virginia Cooperative Extension and is an active participant in the Beginning Farmers program through the Extension office. Mr. Glessman is also a writer and contributor to articles for the Master Gardeners Association about various agricultural topics.
